Objectives

  • Find out about opportunities for you through Voices-EU Youth Dialogue and Skills Summary 
  • To include a diverse voice of young people in the European Year of Skills and the EU Youth Dialogue process. 
  • To raise young people’s awareness of their soft skills gained through non-formal education and the value of those skills in employment and the future of work, particularly for young people with fewer opportunities, strengthening their sense of belonging to society.   
  • Promote the value of non-formal and informal learning through youth work and volunteering (especially for skills development and employability) and active participation among young people, decision makers and employers across Ireland. 
  • Hear from inspiring speakers: Peter Byrne, South Dublin Chamber CEO and Siobhan Kinsella, Noel Recruitment CEO who will tell you why “soft skills” or transversal skills are the strongest skills and reason your contribution can’t be replaced by AI. 
  • Learn and grow: Engage the Cycle 10 of the EU Youth Dialogue consultation, focusing on EU Youth Goal #3 – Inclusive Societies and Skills Summary! – show decision makers and employers how youth work helps you develop key skills which create alternative pathways to inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities in society.

Extra information

Participation Consent Form for under 18yrs: On registering you will receive a link to a participation consent form that will be required to get filled in by parent/guardian in order to attend the event.  Please email this consent form to Emma emmao@nyci.ie and bring the original on the day.   

 

Reimbursement:  Bring your return public transport ticket to the event and we will reimburse you on the day. If you are unable to use public transport, please contact international@nyci.ie in advance of event to ensure that you will be reimbursed.
