You may have heard of Léargas, Erasmus + or ESC funding, but are unsure of who it is for or how to access it. Léargas are the National Agency in Ireland, responsible for the management and administration of Erasmus + and European Solidarity Funds in Ireland, on behalf of the European Commission.
Every year funding is awarded by Léargas to youth arts programmes using non-formal learning methods to activate youth participation and explore issues impacting on young people both in Ireland and internationally. Projects can take place under different funding strands, some examples:
Youth Exchanges: youth exchanges exploring arts, culture and identity for young people aged 13-30 years
Training Programmes: Development of training course exploring creative methodologies in youth arts for youth workers
Solidarity Projects: Use of Youth Arts methodologies to explore and take action on a solidarity issue identified by a group of young people aged 18-30 years
Volunteering: Hosting or sending of talented volunteers, aged 18-30 years, from youth arts organisations in Europe to work with your organisation, or send a young person to another project in Europe
Essentially there are lots of opportunities! Join this session to get a taster on all of this and think about what your next step is to develop activities that best suit the needs of your organisation and the young people you are working with.
