Youth Consultation: A Better Tomorrow – Ireland’s Youth Pact for the Future

March 16 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm GMT

Want to have YOUR say on the future of our world? Join Ireland’s United Nations Youth Delegates and NYCI’s Young People’s Committee to create ‘Ireland’s Youth Pact for the Future’.

In September 2024, countries of the world will come together in the United Nations for the first ever Summit of the Future. The purpose of this meeting is to agree on and commit to a Pact for the Future and a Declaration on Future Generations i.e. how can we protect current and future generations of children and young people against the economic, social, and environmental challenges that we face and create today? What do you want the future to look like? What needs to change today to make that future vision a reality?

We want to hear from you and collect your thoughts and ideas, to bring YOUR voice to the local and national Government in Ireland. We also intend to take your ideas and share them globally at the Summit of the Future held in New York in September 2024.

Young people’s experiences, opinions, and hopes for the future are important and will be advocated for, on a global level. We believe that The Pact for the Future will also show the Government in Ireland (and around the world) that urgent implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals is required: that not achieving the goals by 2030 is not an option.

On the day, you will be joined by young people from all over Ireland. Together, you will explore five areas, with the support of youth workers guiding you on the day. This will be a co-creation journey and you will explore these topics: Sustainable Development & Finance; International Peace & Security; Science, Technology, Innovation, Digital Cooperation; Youth and Future Generations; and Transforming Global Governance.

Discussing these areas will give you an opportunity to understand your relationship and connection to our globalised world. There will be some wise characters to meet along the way, with food and drink (H2O) to help you find the endless possibilities the future holds.

Will you join us?
