Join us in celebrating Men’s Health Week (MHW) from Monday 13th until Sunday 19th June 2022
The theme for 2022 is: ‘Mission isPossible’ and everyone is being reminded that ‘The Action Starts With You’ in terms of taking small steps to improve both your own health and the health of those around you.
‘Men’s Health Week’ is an annual celebration with its core purpose being to encourage men and boys to live healthier lives and to seek help or treatment at an early stage. There has been a broad range of research which highlights the challenges men in Ireland and further afield face, a key finding being that men’s mental health needs are often under the radar and remain unmet. Many of these issues have been further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and the resultant restrictions having an adverse effect on the health of men and boys in Ireland.
This is not a ‘lost cause’ and the men of Ireland through ‘Men’s Health Week’ are being reminded that small things really can make a difference whether going for a walk, taking time out or just re-connecting with a friend.
With that in mind, NYCI’s National Youth Health Programme has developed a new online resource, ‘Your Wellbeing Hub’. This brings together the wide range of self-care resources developed by the health programme in one easy to navigate place. Remember ‘The Action Starts With You’.
