We are very excited to announce the second round of the Youth 2030 Young People’s Committee. Since 2020, The National Youth Council of Ireland, Youth 2030 programme has welcomed a cohort of young people to support a strong youth participation movement around global justice issue.
Through reflection, analyses and critically thinking, the committee engages in topics such as systemic inequality, protection of human rights and power dynamics. Last year’s group had the opportunity to review and advise the work of the Youth 2030 Global Youth Work and Development Education Programme and also to lead projects such as the Youth Manifesto on Climate Justice and the Just Transition project in collaboration with Nation Economic Social Council.
Application Process &Rules
Committee Members must enjoy a critical approach to global justice issues and be enthusiastic in your approach. Committee members receive no remuneration for their work but will be reimbursed for transport fee for meeting.
Meetings will be chaired by a member of the Global Youth Work team; while group members will have the opportunity to review and advise the work of the global youth work and development education team.
Member will be expected to attend online monthly meetings offer ideas on how to further promote global justice topics and shape events contents. As well as training opportunities, as they arise.
The committee will sit for a one-year period, after which we hope members will apply the skills and competence developed in other projects and platforms.
Criteria for Committee Membership
Committee members must:
- Be age 16+
- Be curious about and have a real interest in global justice issues
- Understand your role as part of wider collective change.
