Dear Colleagues,
The NYCI Policy and Advocacy Committee (PAC) plays an important role in developing and informing the NYCI policy and advocacy agenda.
We are now calling on NYCI member organisations (except those already represented as detailed below) to nominate one person to service on the PAC for the next two years.
As detailed in the terms of reference the role of the PAC is as follows;
§ To contribute to the development and implementation of the policy and advocacy work of NYCI.
§ To contribute to and recommend the annual work plan for policy and advocacy to the Board of NYCI.
§ To contribute to the development of pre-budget submissions, policy and position papers and to make recommendations concerning these matters to the Board for approval.
Meetings
§ The PAC meets four times during the year. Occasionally, additional single agenda meetings may be convened if required.
§ The PAC may establish thematic working groups and other consultative focus groups from time to time to progress certain pieces of work.
§ The next meeting of the PAC will be in November 2019.
Term of Office
§ The successful nominee will serve for an initial period of two years, members can be reappointed subject to the approval of their member organisation
Eligibility
§ All member organisations are eligible to nominate one person to the committee with the exception of the following organisations which are already represented on the PAC; namely; Crosscare, Youth Work Ireland, Foróige, Union of Students in Ireland (USI), Young Social Innovators, Gaisce, An Óige, Junior Chamber Ireland and Girls’ Brigade Ireland.

§ Only applications completed as per the attached nomination form with short CV will be accepted. Nominations should be sent to james@nyci.ie by latest 5pm Monday, October 21st 2019.
