Our aim is to create a space of support\, of sharing with other ethnic minority youth workers\, building a learning\, upskilling and reflective practice space.  \nWhat is ‘Holding space’ – Supporting youth work through a minority ethnic lens? \nThe purpose of this network is to bring together ethnic minority youth workers and volunteer youth leaders to encourage thought leadership for a diverse youth work sector.  Through four events per year\, via workshops and peer to peer learning opportunities\, ‘Holding space’ aims to build solidarity\, share capacity\, and foster meaningful connections. \nSome might ask…. Why? \nBeing a minority ethnic youth worker/leader has many challenges\, particularly in accessing opportunities\, networks and supports. ‘Holding Space’ aims to fill this gap and form a network where minority ethnic practitioners share and reflect on their experiences in the sector and in connection to the wider social context. \nHow? \n\n4 events/meetings per year\nThrough workshops and peer to peer learning\, exploring needs and tackling challenges\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”2px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”purple-box”][vc_column width=”1/6″][vc_single_image image=”“30180”” img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”5/6″][vc_column_text] \nDate & time\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]11 June 2024 \n10am – 4pm[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”purple-box”][vc_column width=”1/6″][vc_single_image image=”“30179”” img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”5/6″][vc_column_text] \nCost\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Free![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”purple-box”][vc_column width=”1/6″][vc_single_image image=”“30178”” img_size=”full” alignment=”center” el_class=”img-65″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”5/6″][vc_column_text] \nVenue\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Ratra House\, North Road\,  \nPhoenix Park\, Dublin 8[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”2px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nObjectives\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Bring together youth workers from ethnic minority backgrounds and build a practice development network.  \nSupport the network with a series of in-person meetings.  \nMaintain the network and have a space for workers to reflect and share their experiences and practice.  [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nDesigned for\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \n\n\nEthnic minority youth workers and volunteers  \n\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nDelivered by\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]NYCI’s Equality and Intercultural Programme [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nContact details \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Rachel Coffey 086-1658453  \nRachelc@nyci.ie  [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]\n \n \n Name(Required)\n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n \n Email(Required)\n \n Enter Email\n \n \n \n Confirm Email\n \n \n \n Phone(Required)Organisation(Required) County(Required) Dietary Requirements Can you please tell us why you are interested in attending this event(Required)Consent I agree to the privacy policy.Keep me up to date! Youth workers are uniquely placed to understand the complexities that young people are facing in relation to consent and how they are trying to deal with this concept. \nA rapid needs assessment was conducted by the National Youth Health Programme (NYHP) in 2019 with youth workers entitled ‘Young People\, Youth Workers and Consent’. The results of this rapid appraisal informed this consent training programme. \nThis training supports the objectives of the National Sexual Health Strategy 2015- 2020; with particular reference to Goal 1: Sexual Health promotion\, education and prevention where “everyone living in Ireland will receive comprehensive and age-appropriate sexual health education and/or information and will have access to appropriate prevention and promotion services.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”purple-box”][vc_column width=”5/6″][vc_column_text] \nDate & time\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]11th of June 2024 \n10am – 4pm[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”purple-box”][vc_column width=”5/6″][vc_column_text] \nCost\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Free of charge – ticket required[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”purple-box”][vc_column width=”5/6″][vc_column_text] \nVenue\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Mayo Education Centre\, Westport Rd\, Knockaphunta\, Castlebar\, Co.
