The Youth council joined Peace Corps Albania in a service project organized with the support of the Tirana Parks Department in the Grand Park of Tirana. The service project was also joined by young volunteers from UN Youth Association of Albania, OSCE Youth Advisory Group, Community Center for Roma Children and the National Institute of Children with problems at Sight “Ramazan Kabashi”.
Teams of youth activists, volunteers, and Peace Corps staff, painted the steps that come down from the lake dam to one of the park access roads, as well as three gazebos called Bisedka within the greater Park area.
Also, responding to the detected environmental needs, a cleaning activity took place, with participation of caring young people. The project was designed to motivate youth to become socially conscious and to take action in their communities to make a difference. At the end of the project youth was already reflecting upon and were discussing initiating environmental solutions.
Special thanks go to the talented artist Franko Dinaj, who volunteered to design the mural painting.
