NYCI and the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) are delighted to launch the freshly revised toolkit `Using Games in Youth Work for Development Education`. Explore this very practical resource packed full of ideas, guidance, tips, templates and resources, including a brand-new chapter on `Designing Computer Games`.

At the same time, in celebration of Science Week 2022 as well as to support activities during One World Week 2022, we are inviting youth workers and other practitioners to sign up for one of ten places on the online tutorial and equipment kit on `Using Games in Youth Work for Development Education`.
Participants will:
- Receive an equipment kit in the post worth €80
- Participate in an online tutorial with our Games in Youth Work experts Pamela O`Brien and Natasha Kiely (TUS)
- Receive technical support and guidance on planning Games in Youth Work sessions for young people
Online tutorial details:
`Coding Applications to Support the Playing of Board Games`, 6th December 2-4 pm
In this two-hour online tutorial participants will learn how to programme a micro:bit. Participants will create applications to support the playing of traditional board games, for example to simulate the rolling of a dice, to determine who will start the game etc. A web browser is all that is required to participate in the workshop and no prior coding experience is needed.

Terms and Conditions: Places are available to youth workers, volunteers or other practitioners that are in a position to deliver sessions with young people in youth work or other voluntary, non-formal education settings. Allocation on a first come, first served basis.
Applicants must be available to attend the online tutorial which will take place on:
Tuesday 6th December, 2-4 pm
Deadline for applications: 22nd November 2022
Confirmation of successful participation: by 23rd November 2022
Equipment kits will be shipped before the online tutorial.
