The 2022 Youth Arts Summer School is now open for applications!
This year’s course will focus on digital music, song writing & recording.
Combining some online sessions with a 2-day residential in Maynooth University, this training programme aims to support youth workers and youth arts practitioners to gain the knowledge as well as the practical and creative skills to set up recording hubs in their own youth space and lead young people through their own engagement with song writing and production.
This practical and in-depth training aims to provide participants with the skills, tools and software to set up remote writing, production and recording studios for innovative, creative practice with young people. The STEAM element of the programme will further equip participants with an innovative and highly creative tool kit when designing music programmes with young people.
Through the Youth Arts Summer School mentoring process, participants will be supported to create a six-week programme ready for implementation over the summer months and an online follow-up session will be provided to help embed learning, support peer support and sharing of practice.
Join Garry McCarthy (Director of GMCBeats, Producer, Lyricist and Creative Media Designer), Mark the Science Guy (STEAM Educator and Celebrity Scientist) and the National Youth Arts Programme team for an exciting summer school to develop your digital music production skill-set and re-energise your creative work with young people!
